Planning is coming along well for our Annual Conference. While we usually host these events in the late summer or early fall, we’ve moved up our dates this year in the hopes of engaging more students from the University of Nevada, Reno.
We have several speakers and presenters lined up for both our Thursday Field Tour as well as our Friday Speaker Series. Topics include management of a local organic farm, hydrology research in the Truckee River watershed, using insects as indicators of wetland health, and more! We are especially excited to be hosting Dr. Hailey Wilmer, a social rangeland scientist with the Agricultural Research Service in Fort Collins, CO, as our keynote speaker.
Lastly, we are opening up our Thursday night Women in Conservation panel discussion to the general public. This event will be free and will provide an environment for a few leading women in the conservation field to discuss their experiences, their achievements, and the future of the field.
